Ubuntu Feasty WiFi on HP tx1110us

Installing Ubuntu on a presario tx1110us is one more way to see that Vista is too heavy for what it actually does. Ubuntu ran twice as fast as Vista on my PC and you can really see your two cores working. Wifi, however, doesn't work with the default driver: bcm43xx. You need to use ndiswrapper. After you do lspci, you see that the network device is a Broadcom Corporation Dell Wireless 1390. You can find explicit instructions on how to install it on 1390.

By the way, I am really happy with the performance of my tx on Ubuntu.
